Reflection

Writer: Rachel KelleyRachel Kelley

To look in a mirror and see yourself for all that you are is only the tip of the iceberg. To really get to know who you are, look for yourself in other selves. All that is you will reflect back, opening a portal into the existence of beliefs you hold within yourself.

Not all of these beliefs will be ones you wish to keep. You’ll notice the ones that don’t resonate with your being at first. These will be known to you if you pay attention. The things deep within that you may have put off for too long, or never really recognized. The subtle cues of these beliefs will come to the surface, for you always have a choice. Do you acknowledge them? Do you choose to act on them? Or will you just let them go as merely a thought and nothing more?

The truth within your being will always be hinting, always be nudging you to strive towards being your most authentic self. Your soul wants nothing more than for you to gain the courage and the wisdom to move ahead, beyond the blockades of your mind.

The other self will always show you what you need to focus on. What moves you should make next, what inner facets that need attention. There are many ways that Spirit works through us to show us the path, but through other selves, if recognized, it paints a clear picture of what actions are needed to progress in your own life.

Our beliefs, our thoughts, and our actions determine the reality we live. We have a choice to either believe what has been programmed throughout our time on this planet, or to question if those beliefs could be hindering our progress in some form or another. Our thoughts feed these beliefs. The motivation to take action is usually only by one route - to avoid discomfort.

Do we let our mind take over and continue going in a downward spiral of thoughts to satisfy an outdated belief, or do we expand our mind to the many infinite possibilities that may contradict, if not prove a belief incorrect? Do we let these beliefs wreak havoc, encouraging the thoughts you wish to release? Or do we take action?

Make a decision to believe there is more, more than meets the eye, and that possibly two things can be right at the same time. We live in a world full of duality, the chances are great that two contradictions can be correct simultaneously.

When you see your reflection in another, first ask yourself, is that who you truly want to be? You do have a choice. You have always had a choice. But until you can accept what needs to be changed, it will only be merely a thought. Believe you can change. Take the appropriate actions to change, even if it’s one baby step at a time.

One day you’ll look back on this day, and realize you’ve seen your reflection thousands of times. But this day, you chose to take action.
